A Blue Eyed Beach Birthday

A Blue Eyed Beach Birthday

30A Beach Fire

Ahhhhhh :)

This has been a crazy, cold winter for the entire country. To help everyone think Spring and warm weather I decided to post about Mr. Blue Eyes birthday bonfire that we had in November.

We live in a picturesque place, it’s like living on a movie set.  Oh, and did I mention that they actually filmed a movie here! Seaside, one of the little towns on the highway was the setting for the film, The Truman Show, staring Jim Carrey.

The water, sunsets, sand dunes,  everything is gorgeous we just love it here.

30A Beach Fires

One of our favorite activities since moving down here is having a beach fire.  The county that we live in is one of the only in Florida that allows you to have beach fires, which is why we try do them fairly often.  When planning a beach fire you can go as simple or over the top as you want.  Mr. Blue Eyes loves to spend time with family and friends and he loves to be at the beach so I figured a casual beach bonfire would be the perfect 31st birthday party.  When you come down to 30A bonfires are pretty easy to set up.  For tourists it is much easier to go through a company because they will do the work for you.  When you are doing it on your own you need to go to the fire department and get the permit (around $50).  You will also need to get a burn pit and wood.  Tiki torches are always a fun touch along with chairs and cozy blankets (necessary for the fall and winter fires, not during the summer :) ).  The rest is really up to you…food, drinks, games, music, the sky is the limit to how grand your fire can be.

The Gangs all here!

Since it was my sweet, Mr. Blue Eyes birthday I decided to fancy up the bonfire a bit.  We had a nice spread of food and drinks.  It is hard to bring a full dinner down to the beach so I decided that we would just have appetizers and  order pizzas later (the pizza places here deliver to the beach, unreal right?!).  Of course I had to provide s’more ingredients because a bonfire would not be complete without one!

Beach fires will never get old for Mr. Blue Eyes and I.  There is something so magical about the sound of the waves and the crackling fire.  This birthday fire was no different.  Good friends, food, fire, life doesn’t get much better.

Hi. I really love the little swag (?) between the torches behind the food table. I am going to remember that for my next outdoor party. For us, it won’t be for months!
