Every year we remember those who fought and died for our great country. Their bravery and selflessness are at the core of our countries beliefs and freedom.
During our long holiday break this year we decided to have an impromptu gathering with some family. Mr. Blue Eyes is currently out of town (you will hear more about that in a future post). That means that Baby Blue (Roo) and I are staying with my parents. For our little shindig I offered to make one of my favorite appetizers…Ever!
Easy Feta Dip
This recipe is seriously delicious and so easy. I had to restrain myself from eating the entire plate prior to serving it. You only need a few simple ingredients and and platter to plate it.
– Olive Oil
– Green Onions (1 bunch)
– Roma Tomatoes (2-4 depending on your platter)
– Cavender’s All Purpose Greek Seasoning (Love this)
– Feta Cheese (1 block package)
*With the Feta I like the block because they contain a lot more moisture than the crumbles.
Step 1: Get the platter you plan to use and cover the bottom with a thin layer of olive oil.
Step 2: Chop the tomatoes and green onions and then put them on the olive oil.
Step 3: Crumble the Feta on top of the green onions, tomatoes, and olive oil.
Step 4: Sprinkle the Greek seasoning on top of all the ingredients.
Step 5: Mix all the ingredients together and enjoy!
Serve this dip with a French Baguette, crackers or simply eat spoonfuls! 🙂
Along with that appetizer I helped make our very patriotic fruit and cheese platter. It is super easy to construct it just takes a bit of time to prep the ingredients. Here is the end result.
We finished off the night hanging out and laughing a lot! Baby Blue was very tired!
I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with your family and friends!
