Pregnancy Craving Sandwich

So this post has back story.  For my birthday in June Mr. Blue Eyes and I went to Seaside, one of the local little hot spots on 30A.  This is the town that was featured in the movie, The Truman Show.  We decided  to have drinks (of course I enjoyed a club soda and lemonade) over looking the ocean at Bud and Alley’s Waterfront Restaurant.  Then for dinner we headed down to, The Meltdown on 30A.  This is a street-side food truck (in an adorable airstream trailer) that I have been dying to try and Oh my word was it it worth it!  Mr. Blue Eyes and I each got a “Smokin’ Turkey” grilled cheese.  This “smokin” grilled cheese is made with jack cheese, turkey, bacon, avocado and their Albuquerque sauce.  I am not a big fan of bacon so I didn’t get bacon but Mr. Blue Eyes swears that was the best part.

The Meltdown on 30A

Ever since that magical birthday dinner I have been craving a turkey grilled cheese.  We don’t usually buy deli meat so I never thought about making a turkey grilled cheese at home.  Well I had a brilliant at Publix the other day…buy some turkey! That is when my grilled cheese turkey sandwich making began!

My version is obviously a little different than, The Meltdowns but it definitely hits the spot when I am at home.

Turkey Grilled Cheese Ingredients

Boar’s Head Mesquite Turkey – I use about 3 thin slices

Two slices of bread – I used whole grain but use whatever you have

1 slice of pepper jack cheese

1/2 Avocado

3 small tomatoes (of course you can use whatever kind you have)

Yellow mustard (This doesn’t compare to the yummy sauce from The Meltdown on 30A but I love it)

Butter-I spread a little on the outside of the bread

This sandwich is pretty easy to make.  First spread the butter on the outside of the bread and start building your sandwich! I put the cheese on first then the turkey.  On top of the turkey I put the avocado, then tomatoes, and finally the yellow mustard.  Slap it on the frying pan and cook away until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy! Then enjoy!

Mr. Blue Eyes and I have really been enjoying these sandwiches and hopefully you will try them and feel the same way!
