Classroom Tour

I feel a bit guilty linking up for this part of the Blog Hoppin’ shindig.  My classroom is nowhere near completed.  As you know if you have been reading my blog we just moved to Florida.  That means I had to move all my classroom possessions.  That also means that I had to clean out my new room prior to putting away my things and then decorating and organizing! So the rest of the week will be dedicated to finishing the room up (well except for a weeknight beach trip and a fantasy football draft) and get ready for the first week!

These pictures that I am about to post are works in progress, please don’t judge, I have been very busy.  Enter if you dare…

This school year I am really working to be budget friendly.  I am planning to use everything that I had which is why my room seems a bit mismatched.  Also, I am not a huge fan of having everything being matchy-matchy, my style is more eclectic (otherwise that is what my cheap side tells me :) ).  I did purchase Cara Carroll’s Chalk it up to Organization pack on tpt, which by the way I love! Go check it out, you will not be disappointed.  So those are the labels that you are seeing.  I also used her book labels and then manipulative labels.

Here are my book boxes, who by the way are waiting patiently for me to find them a home! Notice the adorable labels, thank you First Grade Parade.

I saw this burlap at Wal-Mart {in Wisconsin} this summer and that is when I came up with my vintage school room theme.  Seriously, burlap and chevron…does it get any better? When I came down south I visited my first Hobby Lobby {amaze} and found the yellow burlap ribbon and chevron ribbon.  In the package (sorry I forgot to get a picture) it was double the length.  I ended up cutting the yellow burlap and chevron ribbon down the middle in order to get more bang for my buck.  Today I bought some adorable flowers {at Hobby Lobby} to add a little flair they will be put up tomorrow morning.  More pictures will be posted when I am completed.

Here is another one of my vintage bulletin boards.  Again the burlap was found in Wisconsin at Wal-Mart and the ribbons were found at Hobby Lobby down South! :)

Again, no judgements! I just started decorating and will post more when I have “cutified” it {yes, I did just make that word up}.  Porgress has been made and that is all I can hope for! Now Mr. Blue Eyes is making me prepare for our couples fantasy football  league draft tomorrow! Who shall our first pick be?

Love your boards! Wish I hired you before you left. I also do not like theme classroom decor so I’m skipping the circus theme this year and doing my own thing. Maybe the hallway board will have a circus theme for a week before the kiddos make something to hang up.
