Dressing the Wedding Party
I am a girl who knows what she wants. Before getting engaged I always loved the store, Anthropology. Come to find out Anthropology has a bridal brand online called BHLN.com. Finding this website lead me to finding my bridesmaid dresses and gown!
I have to give you a bit of background on Mr. Blue Eyes and I before we go on. Well, we absolutely love the Internet and online shopping. Mr. Blue Eyes even let it slip that he purchased my engagement ring online (which I absolutely by the way)!
Wedding Tip: Shop jewelry stores online like bluenile.com. Online stores have an enormous selection and usually you can receive free shipping! It also helps you if you are in a time crunch like we were.
Because we were getting married in roughly 3 months I didn’t have the luxury of going from shop to shop to try on dresses, also I didn’t really want to. 🙂 That’s why from the moment I went on the BHLN.com website and spotted “my dress” I was sold!
“My dress” had a classic cut and stylish embellishment that was stunning and was just what I was looking for. The model was also wearing an unbelievable necklace that I had to have. The dress also had a rustic touch that worked so well with our theme and venue.
I ordered the dress and it came within the week. Perfect timing for our quick nuptials. The dress arrived in a gorgeous box and linen dress bag. I put it on and it fit very true to size. I am 5′ 3” so I expected the dress to be model length which meant I also knew that I was going to need it to be hemmed. That was truly the only issue with this gorgeous dress! I am still obsessed two years after our wedding.
While looking at the gorgeous gowns on BHLN.com I happened upon the bridesmaids dresses. They were all gorgeous but there were two that stood out. The two dresses I loved were the same dress, however, they were different colors. One was a deep eggplant and the other was an abstract floral pattern with golds, greens, and purples. After much deliberation I couldn’t decide between the dresses… so… I decided to get both!
It happened to work out perfectly because I had a maid and matron of honor who I decided were going to wear the abstract floral dress and then my two other bridesmaids were going to wear the eggplant dress.
Wedding Tip: Play with color, pattern, and style with your bridesmaid dresses. Bridesmaid dresses are a place where you can experiment and be a bit daring. They are there to accent you on your day and I know your sweet friends would not have it any other way.
I don’t think my dresses could have turned out any better. The mixture of the color and patterns were beautiful and looked great in photographs. I have BHLN.com to thank for the speed and beauty of the dresses on our wedding day.
What do you think about mixing color, patterns, and styles on your lovely ladies?
